PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

The Management of PACET, ably led by Prof. P Appukutty, our beloved chairman understood the philosophy of Swamiji and encourages our students to actively participate in various cultural and sports activities.

P.A.College of Engineering and Technology, takes interest in providing ample opportunities and facilities for sports and games activities. The college aims at the holistic development of each student and the sports club activities have an important role in this.

The club is being successfully managed by the Physical Director Mr.T.KambathuRaja B.com, M.PED, M.Phil.

The Sports Activities for both boys and girls are conducted regularly inside the college campus. Our Students Excelled in Intra & Inter Collegiate sports events conducted by various colleges and by the university .They have secured the following Prizes for the events conducted.

The event held at Coimbatore Institute of Technology 31st March 2010 to April 2010 :

• Mr. S. Vignesh of II year B.Tech IT secured 1st place in Pole Vault
• Mr. M. Manoj Kumar of II year B.Tech IT secured 2nd place in Long jump
• Mr. S. Daniel Rajpaul of II year B.Tech IT secured 3rd place in Long jump
• Mr. M. Manoj Kumar of II year B.Tech IT secured 3rd place in Triple jump
• Mr. A. Manoharan of II year B.E.EE secured 3rd place in 400 Metres Hurdles
• Ms. P. B. Somya Priya of I yea B.E.ECE secured 2nd place in Javelin Throw

The Following events were held at Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal on 4th & 5th January 2010

• Mr. M. Sathish Kumar of II year B.E.CSE secured 3rd place in weight Lifting
• Mr. Manoj Kumar of II year B.Tech IT secured 3rd place in Power Lifting
• Mr. M. Mohan Raj of II year B.E.EEE secured 2nd place in Body Building

Ms.G.Sumathi of II B.E.ECE, Ms.S.Brindha of II B.E.CSE and Ms.P.M Shreeja of II B.E.ECE secured Runner certificate in table Tennis match held at PSG Institute of Technology from 13th March 2010 to 15th March 2010.

Students of P.A.College of Engineering and Technology participated and emerged as winners in Zonal Volley ball Tournament held at kathir College og Engineering, Coimbatore on 06.09.2010 and 07.09.2010 and were qualified to participate in Inter-Zonal level Tournament.

Ms.G.Sumathi of II B.E.ECE, Ms.S.Brindha of II B.E.CSE & Ms.P.M.Shreeja of II B.E.ECE participated and secured 3rd place in Zonal Table tennis Tournament held at Kalaingar Karunanithi Institute of Technology, Coimbatore on 06.08.2010 and 07.08.2010 and were qualified to participate in Inter-Zonal level Tournament.
